Basic Information

The important and supporting elements of a treehouse are usually comprised of timber and floor boards. The most frequently used wood is coniferous wood, strength class C24.

In addition to the material, the diameter of timber and the thickness of boards are also crucial factors. The essential and decisive components should be dimensioned in a static calculation. For a standard platform the results of the static calculation are shown in the adjacent table. This platform has dimensions of about 4.50m by 4.50m and is designed for a maximum load of 150kg/m² and a service life of just the summer.

There should be no snow loads on the platform and the tree house should not be entered during storms.

The distance between the secondary beams should not exceed 80cm.
